Polyethylene Foam

Atlas Foam Products provides polyethylene foam for aerospace foam packaging solutions:

Ethafoam®: Lightweight, durable, moisture-resistant – ideal for long-term applications that need strong shock absorption and vibration dampening, such as heavier item packaging

  • Flame retardant: Contains additives to meet fire safety regulations for aircraft interiors. 
  • Application: Primarily used in aircraft seating, particularly as a base layer in cushions due to its buoyancy and compression set characteristics.
  • Benefits: Lightweight, durable, good shock absorption, and can be easily fabricated to fit specific needs.

Properties

  • Closed-Cell Structure: Excellent water resistance, cushioning, and insulation
  • Chemical Resistance: Resistant to fuels, oils, solvents, and a wide range of other chemicals
  • Temperature Resistance: Withstands low to moderate temperatures
  • Flexibility: Flexible and conforming in various applications like custom molded inserts
  • Thermal Insulation: Helps limit heat transfer to maintain cabin temperature and reduce energy consumption

Polyurethane Foam
